1.0 Atomic Structure

We start from these basic ideas:

Elements are the basic building blocks of the Universe. More than 100 elements are known. We can learn about elements in stars by analysing light coming from them.

Apart from the hydrogen and some helium made in the big bang, elements are made by nuclear reactions inside stars. We are quite literally star dust!

Elements consist of atoms.
